NPS Pixbet: WA.Technology’s Wilder Brito Repeats Brazilian Northeastern Poker Championship Win

Ranking 2017 champion Wilder Brito repeated his incredible past feat and won his second NPS Pixbet Poker Championship, scooping the R$75,000 prize.

After a fierce battle with many twists and turns, the winner was declared champion at the last hurdle; it was an old acquaintance from past tournaments: Wilder Brito – Director of Operations Brazil at WA.Technology. The NPS Pixbet 2023 tournament drew to an exciting close on the circuit's record-breaking stage, with more than R$1.7 million raised. 

Northeastern Champion in 2017, Wilder successfully repeated the feat achieved six years ago and earned his second Northeastern ranking title of his poker career. The player and businessman from Alto do Rodrigues, Brazil, can now say that he owns one of the most epic victories in the history of NPS Pixbet, with the achievement being decided only at the final table of the last tournament.

The exciting competition ran throughout the year, with Wilder pitting his abilities mainly against Hugo Leonardo and professional player João Marcelo. Wilder was crowned after a season with many awards won. He racked up an incredible 24 cashes in the five stages of the circuit and added two titles to his CV, both won in the third stage. Now two-time Northeastern Champion, Wilder can also enjoy his handsome prize of R$75,000.

Wilder spoke about the achievement with his duty accomplished: “It’s gratifying. I decided to come and focus on the game: I didn't focus on the opponent, I didn't focus on the lines, I was simply focused on doing my best. I came to do this for my family, to be my son's hero.’’

“Maybe I'm not the best player technically among players; maybe I'm even far from it because I don't make a living from poker. But I can say that at least I'm one of the most strategic. My strategy changed throughout the day. At each moment of the dispute, I adapted the strategy as needed. I had already been through this and had a very calm mind. In the end, it worked out.” concluded Wilder.
